Wise Hope Shelter
Wise Hope Shelter & Crisis Center, a provider of services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Wise, Jack and Montague counties, seeks an Executive Director to build on the successful tenure of the previous Executive Director.
Reporting to the Board, the E.D. is the principal administrator of the Shelter, and as such will be responsible for fiscal management, compliance with federal, state and local laws and ordinances, resource development including grant writing, agency programs, public relations and public speaking, ability to engage diverse volunteer and donor groups, and ability to oversee and collaborate with staff.
The Board seeks qualified applicants with a degree in business, social work, public administration or related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service agency. Knowledge of administrative skills and duties (i.e. compiling statistical data, grant writing, research methodology, management and supervision) and other social service skills are a benefit. Applicant should also demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity to issues of domestic violence and sexual assault and possess knowledge of the cultural concepts of the ethnic groups in northeast Texas. Physical ability to walk, bend, stoop, twist at waist, reach, climb stairs, lift and carry at least 50 lbs is required. Successful completion a background check and drug screening will be required prior to hiring.
