Grayson Crisis Center is a dual service (Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault) agency located in Sherman, Texas.
Description: Grayson Crisis Center is looking for someone who is excited about creating safe communities by changing hearts and minds through prevention education. The duties of this position include and are not limited to: developing prevention curriculum for a variety of ages, facilitating prevention curriculum and discussions, creating and working with coalitions in the community, developing and maintaining relationships in the community, attending conferences and trainings to continue building skills and gaining knowledge about prevention, and other various comprehensive prevention work.
Requirements: The job requires flexibility of times and days to work, reliable transportation, and a unique desire for making a difference in their community. Bachelor degree preferable in a social services field. Must demonstrate skills in teaching or facilitating programming to a variety of ages, be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Applicants must possess sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds, values and attitudes with excellent interpersonal communication skills; and must possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
Special Skills: This person must understand comprehensive change, be comfortable speaking in front of crowds, open and accepting of many types of humanity, facilitating a variety of age-appropriate topics, have a positive attitude, be creative, be comfortable improvising, outside the box, independent, confident, be self-directive, and willing to be flexible and patient.
