Training and Outreach Coordinator – Austin, TX
Texas Advocacy Project (the “Project”) is a statewide nonprofit, legal organization based in Austin. Our mission is to prevent domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking throughout Texas through free legal services, access to the justice system, and education. The Project is seeking a full-time training and outreach coordinator who will provide assistance in scheduling, organizing, and implementing trainings, outreach and meetings between Project staff and community partners. The Coordinator will plan and implement agency survivor services programs, coordinate and participate in agency training requests, represent agency on work groups of other advocacy organizations to collaborate on trainings, and schedule staff attorney trainings across the state.
The Project Coordinator will attend local meetings, advisory committees, task forces, work groups and training events when assigned to ensure collaboration with partner agencies as well as ensure the success of the training program. The Coordinator will also work to carry out Hope Campaigns. This will include helping to recruit volunteers, communicate with victim service agencies on their needs, and help ship/distribute product by deadlines
The Coordinator will organize and facilitate trainings by Project staff, assist Survivor Services and Training Director with keeping monthly records of trainings and data for grant reporting on deliverables, and assist in maintain training materials and PowerPoint presentations.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, victim services or other related field. Experience in the dynamics of family violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. Must have basic computer skills and familiarity with database management, record keeping, and Microsoft Office products. Must be able to work with a diverse victim population (people of color, people with disabilities, LGBT, etc.).
Bilingual preferred (Spanish). Ability to organize and present workshops and training sessions to a multitude of audiences. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of state rules and statutes regarding domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. Ability to maintain and prepare statistical data records. Ability to travel statewide. Some weekends and evenings required.
