2019 Purple Postcard
|In 2017, 136 women were killed by a male intimate partner||Over 70,000 Texans received services from family violence centers||41% of shelter requests went unmet due to lack of space|
The above statistics shows that funding for family violence centers has failed to address the growing needs of survivors and account for our state’s population growth. Critical services are needed to make our communities safer across the state. Shelters and programs supporting survivors must maximize scarce resources to save lives every day.
Purple Postcards contain a simple message directed to your elected official: make funding for family violence services a top priority. Voices of survivors and Texans matter and we need your help to send this important message!
Join us in showing our state leaders the importance of fully funding critical, life-saving services. Our goal is to deliver 30,000 postcards (both physical and virtual copies)! Share this link far and wide to agency supporters, partners, allies, friends and family.
TCFV will print and deliver the postcards to the capitol during the 86th Texas Legislative Session in March.
Postcards work! The more we receive, the louder we can amplify this critical need!
