People with disabilities face a higher risk of domestic violence, yet face significant barriers to receiving help. This session will provide an overview of the risk factors in the lives of people with disabilities for victimization, the barriers they face when seeking healing services, and steps providers can take to remove those barriers. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of these risks and explore concrete steps to strengthen survivors’ support systems and improve safety for all.
