Reimagining Your Business Model

Join Steve Zimmerman for this engaging workshop “Reimagining Your Business Model.” Every decision organizational leadership makes affects a nonprofit’s ability to accomplish its mission and be financially viable. As a result of the pandemic, many organizations will need to revisit and adjust their business models. Doing so may be driven by the financial realities the organization faces, but it needs to reflect the dual bottom line of nonprofits – impact and profitability.

Holding these two components together – even in times of crisis – is critical, requiring reimagining how your organization does this now and into the future. This topic focuses on understanding and visualizing the organization’s business model and determining ways to adapt moving forward. This workshop will go more in-depth on the steps to create the matrix map and provide teams time to engage in some of these.

Budgeting and Scenario Planning for a New Reality

Join us and Steve Zimmerman, CPA, MBA, Principal of Spectrum Nonprofit Services in exploring the ins and outs of budgeting and scenario planning in our ever changing communities. Let’s be honest, any budget set at the beginning of 2020 are no longer applicable. As a new reality continues to emerge, organizations will need to shift their budgeting and financial planning to accommodate it. This means exploring different scenarios the organization may face, and the programmatic and financial drivers of those different scenarios.

This topic covers key principles of budgeting amid a crisis, complemented by an approach to scenario planning that organizations can use now and as they create financial forecasts for new fiscal years.

The workshop will move beyond the tool and support participants as they customize the process and content of conducting scenario planning.

We’ll explore relevant financial trends and drivers and begin to think about how these are aligned with the organization’s core impact drivers. As we discuss implementation, we’ll consider how to do so in a way that facilitates ongoing decision-making.
